EGO is a main issue with a lot of human kind.
One guy says this, the other guy seems to contradict that, then Buddha says don't buy into this comment if it doesn't suit you -- he didn't say it that way, i forget the original way. So they all say these things and i can't help but think, some of them must have just been chancers as we call them...
This is part of Socrates Philosophy, that Plato wrote about. Socrates never wrote anything, But Plato, who was his student did.
Effectively Plato and Socrates took the position that all inmorality comes from ignorance.

Due to human nature, people would create pain and suffering, even in a perfect place. The fable of Adam and Eve is about that. If you put humans anywhere perfect, they soon mess it up and cause conflict.

Does being kind to people get misconstrued more now a days than before?
It feels like doing gestures of good faith or without expecting/wanting anything in return is questioned and misconstrued into other intentions.
It feels like that more now than it did before. Although before we we younger and maybe more...
I am completely against cruelty to animals.
But I don't think animals are equal to humans.
